Chimelong Safari Park! We had to wake up super early to catch the greyhound. I think we had to wake up at 6AM and then eat and leave by 7AM and be at the travel agency to wait for the rest of our buddies and the bus. It takes approximately 2 hours to get there and the return bus would picked us up around 5 PM or 6 PM?
Our greyhound consisted of two groups, those who are going to the Chimelong Safari Park and those who are going to the Chimelong Waterpark.
Once you arrive at the park, be sure to grab a map so that you can go to all the attractions. And because the park is so massive, you would probably want to use the map as your navigation system; the park will for sure keep you occupied for at lest 4-5 hours. We only went to watch one elephant show since we were short on time. We were dropped off a bit after 10 AM and there's just so much to do. When you enter the Safari Park, the first thing you would see would be flamingos.
Entrance to the Chimelong Safari Park
Flamingo! Lift up your head please~
The "Jungle Discovery" attraction is basically a little show room (similar to a museum) showing the stages in which the flamingo develops and it also show how the care facilities looks like.
This little tiger pup was also inside the jungle discovery, along with the parrots. Not supposed to use flash...
Chimpanzees! They look so funny.
Coiobus! They are so difficult to spot.
Only one rhino in the far off distance... still as a rock... no spectators...
Baby antelope, i presume.
This attraction was in a central location with no barriers around, so he was performing above our heads, basically.
Now, this environment is quite nice for these chimps.
AWWW. These Japanese Macaques are SOOOO CUTE!!!!
Baby macaque climbing a tree!
This macaque is asking for food. LOL. People were throwing nuts? and once he finish eating he'd ask for more!
The cutest picture ever! Baby macaque with mother!
Next off, we went to the swan lake. There are both black and white swans. This attraction took a large chunk of the land. Quite boring, honestly. We took a couple of pictures and then left quite promptly.
Another attraction to look at baby tigers! soo darn cute!
Near the beginning of the park, there is a optional safari bus tour. The tickets we have
included the safari bus tour, which is a 15 minutes ride around a
specific part of the park so that you can get up close with animals. If
you don't want to buy the admission tickets, you can opt for the
self-drive tour which is around half the price of the walking tour. There is a line up for these bus/train but the waiting time isn't that long. Time to get up and close with the animals.
Half way during the safari on wheels, it started raining but good thing we had a roof over our heads. So lucky.

Kangaroos!
OMG! Camel! OMG!
When the bear stood up, everybody started wowing.
LOL. Black bears mating. Everybody was trying to take a picture of this hilarious sight.
Zebras!!
And this is near the end of the safari bus tour. Basically, the tour is a section off to the side in a forested enclosure. I mean, look at that view, it's gorgeous!
After this we went over to the "Jurassic Forest" which a a dinosaur attraction. First you would be greeted with a talking and moving robot. Well, this attraction introduces you to various dinosaurs. When you enter, there would be a lot of smoke and roars. There were kids screaming and crying, and one girl refuses to enter the pitch black cave.It was an interesting...
Antelope
LEMURS!!
Actually the bird attraction was quite creepy cause the birds were free flying in the large caged area. It was super hot inside too. There was a man who can direct the birds where to fly.
These guys were fighting and the forest ranger had to break them apart.
There was a reptile attraction... full of snakes...yes, and there's that peeping hole.
Peacocks looking majestic.
RED PANDAS!! OMG!! I LOVE THEM. BUT THEY WERE ASLEEP!!
Ostrich!
And then some giraffes. I thought I would never seen giraffes in my life, but here they are! So pretty! Everybody was pushing and shoving trying to feeding them leafs (they had to buy them from the stall, quite expensive).
And then we walked by some more birds in the open fields. How is it that they don't fly away??

Kangaroos! I expected kangaroos to be grey... these look naked.
Next off, Koala attraction!! Darn it, they are so ADORABLE! Inside the koala attraction you are able to take a picture with a koala and hold a koala too, but for a cost. Taking a picture with a koala cost 50 RMB and holding a koala while taking a picture cost 100 RMB. What a rip-off. There were a few people lining up to take pictures with one of the koala though.
This koala is so "CHILL," he's just sitting there with the fan behind him. And he is OH, SO POPULAR.
So Cute! I can watch them forever!
And the most awaited attraction, Panda! It's been one of our dreams to see a real live panda in the flesh! They are sooo lazy and barely moves. This attraction is super popular, it's so difficult to even snatch a good picture of the pandas because people are just pushing and shoving. I always get shoved to the edge or to the back.
After the panda exhibit, we went to look at elephants! I had to help a couple take a picture with the elephants behind them..they did not seem satisfied with the picture I took though, and I helped them took "TWO." The elephant attraction was pretty interesting, we saw two elephant getting into a brawl and the zookeeper had to come and break them up. And then there was a elephant family with all, mom, dad, and baby, holding with others' tail and walking. So cute!
Later on the elephants have to get ready to perform in a show. So we also headed over to the stadium. I guess, the elephant show is one of the most popular performance cause it was a full house! They performed tricks, like standing up, dribbling a ball, shooting hoops, playing soccer, swinging the skipping rope, etc.
Later on one of the elephant was demonstrating how to write a Chinese word. And after that, they asked the audience who wants it and a lot of people raised their hands (I believe, this was ploy to reach into their pockets for cash) and then they said due to a overwhelming amount of people raising their hands, we would do an auction. It was finally sold for 100RMB? or more. I wouldn't even pay $1 for that piece of paper...
The ball landed on top of the soccer net.
Right after the elephant show ended, we headed over to the lion show but we didn't have time to watch as our time to board the bus was approaching. And we didn't visit all the attractions too, so we had to skip this one. AW. Not enough time. This was not a full house; how come this attraction is not as popular as the elephant??! First of all, there are some ferocious animals there; secondly, it needs skills; and lastly, this probably would get your heart pounding.
After poking our head to take a peak at the lion show and to quickly snap a picture; with haste, we headed over to the horse attraction. There's not really to see, except the worlds smallest horse. There's no time to walk around and look at the horses, so we took a glance from far away and then headed back.
World's smallest horse. So TINY and so LONELY. This horse was all alone in the stable. UTTERLY SAD.
Hippo!
I was so surprised to find some meerkats here! I remember killing a bunch of these in Maplestory! HOHOHO!
Some kind of monkey/chimp??
And lastly, ended the day with flamingos again. This time we saw them through a different angle, peeping at them through some leaves.
We headed out 5-10 minutes before the bus arrived. We stood there looking for the greyhound and because there was so many buses, it was so difficult to spot. The bus actually went to pick up people from the waterpark first so it was late. Good thing, I vaguely remember how the greyhound looks like. We were just so confused. There's no meeting place so people were just standing around; and good thing we recognize some people from the same bus so that we know that they would be taking the same greyhound.
There were couple of downsides for the safari park which include overcrowding and super expensive food. They don't allow you to bring any food related times or water into the park. We ate lunch here and it cost us 106 RMB for a small plate of dumplings? and fries? and that's it. The line up for the food stalls was so long also combined with the problem of "CANNOT FIND ANY TABLES TO SIT AT." We basically to scour around to check who would be finished eating. It sucks. Secondly, the sheer amount of baby strollers here is just...yea...
Overall, the #Chimelong Safari Park is a great zoo with a vast number of animals. It can keep you occupied for the entire day. As for the toilets, there is "one" sitting toilet, which is good cause I try to avoid squatters as much as I can. And generally the washroom is quite clean cause the cleaning lady comes quite often.
When we reached Kaiping, it was around 7-8PM, and I was exhausted already but we had to go out for dinner AGAIN. 206 RMB.
END.
