Osaka, Japan - Day 6 (last day)

April 1, 2018

This is our last day in Osaka before we leave for Taiwan. We planned to revisit some of the places we've been but did not have the chance to enjoy. We did not have to wake up too early as most places don't open early.

First stop of the day was to go back to Osaka castle and enjoy the cherry blossoms around the park and do what the Japanese do, eat under the cherry blossom trees. Even though it was early, there were already a lot of people strolling around the park as well setting up picnic blankets on the ground.

So many cherry blossoms petals on the waters!!

We sat on the cement and ate chips and drank milk tea. LOL. I got the gigantic size of Calbee honey chips to eat. We did not sit long before heading out again. The view was very surreal with all the cherry blossoms.

As we were strolling along the park, we encountered a group of Japanese people with their shiba dogs posing for photos. The shibas looked so happy!! SO CUTE!!! (ᗒᗊᗕ)

Osaka Castle

We walked pass this garden of budding trees. So pretty. This area was at the opposite end of the entrance. It was also a long walk.

Birdie!!!

We walked over to the Keihan City Mall to do some shopping as well as use the washroom. There weren't a lot of people inside the mall. We found some good deals at Guu and bought several items. Since it was lunch time as well, my sister really wanted to eat curry before leaving Japan as she heard the curry in Japan is very good. I am not a fan of curry so I didn't really care. I ordered the chicken kaarage meal that comes with miso soup, a bowl of rice, salad and couple of chicken karaage. SO GOOD!!  (*゚∀゚*) One of the best meal I had so far. The chicken I can't even describe how good it tasted. It was soaked with honey! My lunch set cost around ¥1000.

After filling up our stomach, we headed out again to enjoy the view near the river.

Underneath the bridge.

We wondered a bit around the waterfront area near Keihan mall and followed the path outside to the very end. Once there, we sat and ate the strawberry daifuku that we bought.

Strawberry daifuku!!!

After this we took the train to Shinsekai to do some shopping. In the afternoon, Shinsekai is jammed with people. It was a bit difficult to walk and definitely hard to find outdoor benches.

Hello Kitty parking lot!!

We were craving for dessert so we lined up for a matcha crepe as well as Hokkaido milk ice cream.

Hokkaido Milk soft serve ¥320

Matcha Ice cream crepe ~¥500

Once we got our dessert there were no places to sit and it was quite windy as well. We crossed the street and hid behind a fence and sat on the stairs to eat this. It was soooo WINDY!!! (。•́︿•̀。) So cold. Once the dessert was finished, we headed back to Dontonbori to enjoy dinner at Ichiran Ramen!! There was a line to get our tickets for the ramen, but the line moved quickly. Once we got to the vending machine, we needed to decide what to order. You have to put your money in and then press the number of tickets, noddles and toppings. If you decide you want more toppings later, you can always add it once seated.

After the vending machine spits out the tickets, you have to walk upstairs to the second floor and you will see a row of individual ramen stalls. Once you are seated, you can pour yourself some tea. There is also an order form as well. You have to put your ticket at the center and choose your noodles, but if you decide to add toppings, make sure to fill the form and place money on top as well. The server will come check on you but you won't be able to see their faces, we are separated by the blinds. It was a neat experience. My noodles cost around ¥1100-1200 with the toppings (eggs and meat).

Ichiran Ramen

You can also buy the instant version of Ichiran Ramen to bring back as souvenirs. They sell these at the entrance.

After dinner, we walked around Dontonbori at night.

After walking for a bit, we went over to Mos burger to grab the shrimp burger. I've been missing the shrimp burger ever since the last time I went to Japan (4 years ago). The shrimp burger cost ¥390. And my sister wanted to try the Lavendar lemonade drink that apparently changes color (to pink) if you mix it. The drink itself does not taste like anything, it was not sweet as well. The cost for the drink was ¥350 but it didn't change color for us. Quite disappointing.

SHRIMP BURGER!!!! PURE DELICIOUSNESS!

To end the night, we went and bought the famous "Pablo" cheesecake. We also used a coupon that was included with the Osaka pass (to get a free tart) but the cashier just tossed us a mini cookie instead. He looked unimpressed that we were using the coupon. (˵¯͒⌢͗¯͒˵)

The cheesecake we bought seems to be around 6" (which is also the smallest size) and cost around ¥800-900. This is the best cheesecake I've ever tasted (I am also not a fan of cheesecake). The crust was not over the top hard and the top glaze layer of the cheesecake was not overly sweet and the inside filling of cheese is not overly cheesy as well. It is just the right combination. No wonder everybody raves about Pablo cheesecakes. The cheesecake was a bit too much for two people to finish at night though. We had to leave the cheesecake in the fridge for the next morning. Next time I need to try their cheesetarts.

Great way to end the night with dessert at the Airbnb. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
